Trainer's Bio

Raised in New York, my introduction to fitness started at age 16. I worked out using a friend’s simple weight set – a bar with about 70 pounds of weight. It was not until he was in his mid-thirties that he became inspired by having access to a full gym in his New York condo.

After relocating to few years after relocating to Charlotte, North Carolina, a friend introduced me to the phenomenal success of industry fitness leader Obi Obadike. It was Obi’s approach to fitness and nutrition that sparked me to take his fitness to another level.  I wanted to look like Obi and achieve it the same way – through healthy eating and consistent exercise.  At age 47, I gradually went from being a regular guy with a moderate exercise routine (who was eating his fair share of fried foods, pizza, candy, cookies, and cake) to a six-day-a-week “gym rat.”  I became known as “Lex” or “that old guy at the gym.”

My Transformation

hasn’t come without some personal challenges. At age 51, he had a total hip replacement. He used his recovery time to begin the process of reviewing, studying and eventually earning his personal trainer certification. His desire to help change lives through fitness took off during his rehabilitation process.  At age 55, I participated in my first bodybuilding event and earned my SNBF pro card in November 2021 at age 59!

Today at 60 years old, my dream is to help as many people become the best version of themselves is coming true. I am targeting busy professionals over the age of 40 who have felt challenged about getting fit. I pride myself on pushing people past their self-imposed limits. My clients have become motivated to become better versions of themselves as they get older.

I Put Emphasis On

the importance of nutrition, establishing sustainable habits, and accountability with all of my clients, “Eighty percent of a healthy lifestyle is achieved through nutrition and sustainable habits.”  I provide nutritional guidelines and build customized meal plans based on each client’s desires for certain foods but are precise on the preparation and quantity of food intake.  People tend to be very confused about what and how to eat so I provide guidance and support as clients move toward becoming healthier versions of themselves.

We remove the foods that do not promote a healthy lifestyle and provide healthier substitutes.  We hold accountability sessions and provide ongoing support so the client does not feel alone on his or her journey.  We also provide one-on-one personal training – face-to-face and virtual, and customized do-it-yourself fitness plans geared toward providing consistent muscle engagement.”
